The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is an all India entrance examination conducted on rotation by 18 National Law Universities (NLUs) for admissions to their under-graduate and post-graduate degree programmes (LL.B. and LL.M.). The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT 2017) will be conducted by the Chanakya National Law University (CNLU) Patna.

Eligibility: To be eligible to appear in CLAT-2017, a candidate should have obtained Higher Secondary School/ Intermediate (10+2) or its equivalent certificate from a recognized Board with not less than 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of SC and ST candidates), as prescribed by the respective Statutes of the participating Universities  and should be below 20 years of age as on 1st July, 2017 (22 years in case of SC/ST and Persons with Disability candidates, as prescribed by the respective Statutes of the participating Universities. However, such candidates are required to have passed the qualifying examination at the time of their admission and must be able to submit proofs in support of their claims).

Note: There shall be a system of Negative Marking wherein 0.25 marks will be deducted for each of the wrong answer.


Application Form and Information Brochure for CLAT 2017
The CLAT 2017 Online Application Form will be accessible on the CLAT website ( between 1st January, 2017 to 31st March, 2017 along-with the Information Brochure. No hard copy of the Application Form and Information Brochure will be sold.


The fees to be remitted while submitting the Online Application Form of CLAT-2017 for Unreserved/OBC/PWD and other category candidates: Rs. 4000 (Non refundable / non adjustable) and (for SC and ST category candidates it is Rs. 3500). The above application fee includes cost of online application form and e-brochure.
